The Most Forgotten Elements Of A Daily Skincare Routine

Share Post:

Having a daily skincare routine is more important than you think. If you’ve already got one, then that’s a huge tick! It shows you are actively trying to keep your skin healthy, which will be extremely beneficial both now and in the future.

Unfortunately, there’s a big but coming up.

You can follow a daily routine, but are you remembering some of the key elements? Too many people will forget some crucial aspects of skincare every single day. Today, we’re going over the most forgotten parts of a daily skincare routine, so you can make an effort to add them to yours!

Checking your skin for changes

Put your hands up if you will check your skin every day to see if there are any changes. Most of us don’t do this, and it’s pretty worrying.

You see, checking your skin is critical to identify things like squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and other skin cancers. For the most part, skin cancer is treatable when caught early. The problem is that most people don’t catch it until it’s too late. Checking your skin every day for signs of changes is the best thing you can do. You’re able to notice any new blemishes or things that didn’t previously exist. From here, you can monitor them daily and contact a dermatologist if you’re worried, getting a proper check-up and treatment.

Who knows, this simple daily habit could save your life.

Applying sunscreen

Speaking of skin cancer, one of the key ways to prevent it is by applying sunscreen every day. You need sunscreen with a high enough SPF to block UV rays from the sun, stopping your skin from being damaged.

Again, this is something we often forget about. You tend to only apply sunscreen when it’s sunny, but it’s crucial during dark and gloomy days too. Furthermore, you have to apply it all over your face – check out this post to see some of the common places you forget to apply sunscreen.

Tending to your whole body

Your skin is the largest organ in your body. However, when you follow a daily skincare routine, you typically only focus on your face. Granted, your face does deal with more strife than the rest of your body. It’s exposed to the elements and other exterior conditions, which is why you usually see pimples and other skin concerns here.

Nevertheless, if you want to take care of your skin, you have to look after your whole body. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer to your body and keep all of your skin in the best possible condition. Otherwise, you end up with perfect skin on your face, but the rest of your body is riddled with concerns – like excessive dry skin, body acne, wrinkles, etc.

Be honest, are you guilty of forgetting these three elements of your daily skincare routine? We all are, and recognizing our mistakes is the first part of addressing the problem. Hopefully, you will now approach your daily routine in a new manner, ensuring these things are never left out again.
