Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone And Get Fit

Share Post:

If you want to get fit, then you need to be willing to get out of your comfort zone. Most people like to stay securely inside of their comfort zones, which can feel nice occasionally, but can also be very boring and mean you’re not being stimulated and growing the way you should. Growth shouldn’t stop when you leave school – it should continue throughout your entire life!

It doesn’t matter how old you are, or what your current ability level is. It’s never too late to try something new, get out of your comfort zone, and get fit. Even if you consider yourself fit and active already, it’s easy to get into a comfort zone where you are. You might become complacent and think that nothing really needs to change because you’re already working out, but again, you’re not growing physically or mentally the way you should.

If you know that this is something you’re going to struggle with, the pointers here can help you to get started:

Change Your Mindset

Every single change starts in the mind. If you can get to a place in your mind, you can get there in real life, too. By changing your mindset to a more positive, growth focused mindset, you can do anything. Just a few things that can help you to get your head in the right place and completely turn your attitude around include:

  • Meditation
  • Positive affirmations
  • Visualization

The above are just a few techniques that successful people use to get out of their comfort zone and get fit. If you need help, there are plenty of free resources out there!

Make A List Of Things You Want To Try

Now, make a list of things you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t got around to doing. Did you always daydream about what it would be like to ice skate like Torvill and Dean? Do you wonder what your life would have been like if you had taken the plunge (literally) and started scuba diving, complete with your full face snorkel mask? It’s never too late to try the things you always wondered about. Don’t think too far ahead. Don’t worry about what’s to be gained from it, what the point is, or where you could slip up. These thoughts will mean making excuses. Take it one baby step at a time!

Focus On Health

Getting fit means different things to many people, so one of the best things you can do is simply focus on your health. Do you feel healthy? Do you look healthy? The way you look will be a bonus. How you feel is the most important thing!

Don’t Let Mistakes Weigh You Down

We all make mistakes. We all take a tumble from time to time. That’s great because we learn from them. The big issue starts when you let these mistakes weigh you down. You have to learn from them and let go!

Track Your Progress

Finally, make sure you’re tracking your progress. This can be addictive, and you’ll love seeing how far you’ve come. Simply attending a class that you were scared of attending is progress, so make sure you celebrate all of the little wins!
